After a visit to the Duomo and learning about the six centuries it took to built the cathedral, we will continue to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the 19th century glass vaulted shopping arcade, which is considered one of the world’s first examples of the Art Nouveau style. The Galleria, dubbed as “the living room of the Milanese”, because the bars and cafes still existing in the galleria were once the hangout of many famous artists, poets and other men of literature.
The half-day tour will continue to the square of La Scala, where the famous Opera Theatre stands, designed by the most important architect of the late 18th century, Giuseppe Piermarini.
The Sforza Castle is the fortress of Milan, an imposing medieval castle with spectacular interior courtside and the important Museum of Ancient Art, which houses masterpieces from artists such as Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo.
