Francesca and her team made it very easy to book two vans for 11 people from our cruise ship. Our experience with our drivers was beyond anything we could have ever hoped. The friendliness, insight into what we were seeing (in excellent English) and the confidence they both exuded on windy cliff-top roads left a strong impression on me and my whole family. We will certainly refer anyone we know that might be visiting Naples to Francesca and her amazing team!

The tour was fantastic. Pompeii itself is great, but what enhanced the experience and made it even better was our wonderful tour guide, Fiorenza. Probably the two most important qualities in a tour guide in a foreign country are knowledge of the area/subject and ability to speak your language, and Fiorenza nailed both of these areas. You could tell she isn’t a native speaker, but we understood everything she said and she understood our questions as well. There were no language hiccups at all. When it comes to the knowledge area Fiorenza seemed to know all there was to know. We asked about her learning process and she told us about the degree she has that qualifies her to give tours anywhere in the whole Naples/Pompeii/Sorrento area and that she still reads up on history of the area she may have forgotten or did not learn before. She helped bring the Pompeii ruins to life and answered any questions that we had. Fiorenza was mindful of our needs and made sure to point out areas for food and water as well as bathrooms. We also stopped for a quick break about halfway through which was no problem. I have no complaints and very much enjoyed the tour. When I return to the area I plan to book with this company again for a different area. Keep in mind that there is practically no shade throughout the tour and it can get pretty hot. Be sure to have water and possibly a hat. They let you in with a regular sized backpack if you need.

This tour is an absolute. Our family were on a cruise going through this region and typically only book through the cruise ship. We instead booked directly with Tours of Naples with Salvo and I can say we are very happy that we did, not only was the tour much lower cost than what we were paying through the ship but it was a private tour. We were able to see all the same sites but could adjust it to our desires versus the tour companies. Once we arrived at Pompeii, we were greeted by one of the most knowledgeable and absolutely the best tour guide Alessandro. Since my wife and I had already been to Pompeii, we felt that we already knew all there was to know about Pompeii. Alessandro almost made Pompeii come to life for each of us, talking about what happened but also provided details of many of the aspects of life at that time. Absolutely AWESOME tour and a great group to work with, book direct you will be so happy that you did.

My experience with Tour of Naples was outstanding from the beginning to the end. Special mention has to be made about Francesca, who helped me to plan and organize the 2 tours we made with them on June 12th and June 13th. She answers your e-mails right way and spares no efforts to accomodate your needs and wishes. She is no doubt whatsoever a major asset for this company. Both guides - Fiorenza for Pompei and Salvo for Ercolano and Oplontis did an excellent job. Fiorenza was informative, friendly and was always happy to answer all our questions. We even had some spare time to talk about our shared passion - il calcio (surely not about the 1982 World Cup - painful memories for me - still have nightmares about a guy called Paolo Rossi). What to say about Salvo? Any positive comment I could make would not make him due justice! His encyclopedic knowledge of History, Art, Archeology, Social Sciences, etc... helped us to have the references to undestand life in the Roman empire 2,000 years ago (and even now). It is a pity that in our rushed lifes we will not have the opportunity to have a beer together and discuss about life, a new economic and social development model for Italy, etc. You end the tour feeling he is a true friend!

We had troubles booking a private tour guide at late notice with other companies but as soon as Francesca received our request she emailed me and was SUPER helpful in both helping us to book the tour and to find our way from Naples to Pompeii, going above and beyond by providing instructions and a recommended train time for us. Once we got to Pompeii, Margherita, our tour guide was waiting for us with a sign so that we could find her easily and greeted us enthusiastically. She helped us find clean bathrooms and skipped the mile long queue with her priority status to get out entrance tickets! So glad we didn't have to wait in line! Margherita knew the site like the back of her hand. She guided us through the confusing streets of the ancient city with ease and managed to keep us away from the hoards of noisy teenagers and other tour groups so we could better enjoy the atmosphere and views of the site. The tour was very informative and brought the city and the tragedy of the Mount Versuvia eruption to life. Despite all the detail Margherita provided as part of the tour she always had extra information to offer in response to any questions that were asked which was very impressive. At the end of the tour, Margherita was even ready to offer advice on where to eat. A true sign of a seasoned tour guide! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience with 'Tours of Naples with Salvo and his team'. Huge thanks to Francesca and Margherita for making this trip a memorable one!

We booked a half day tour of Pompeii on the same morning we were due to visit - Francesca was very amenable to being called at 7.30am in the morning and promptly organised an English-speaking guide for us, who would meet us off the train in Pompeii. We arrived on the earlier train and discovered Valeria already there and waiting. What can I say - she was fantastic - very knowledgeable, engaging and she really brought Pompeil and the Roman way of living 2000 years ago to life for us. We have 2 sons (10 & 7 years) and she kept them interested with interesting facts and stories, as well as bringing along a picture book that allowed them to visualise what certain ruins looked like before the eruption. I would highly recommend this company.
