Itinerary Description
Join us on a 3-hour taste sensation. Take this opportunity to immerse yourself in Rome’s street food scene where you will sample zucchini flowers, suppi, pastries and pizza whilst enjoying the magnificent sights of ancient Rome.
You meet your guide in one of Rome’s most famous market squares “Campo dei Fiori”. Here you will be introduced to some of the local food vendors at their market stalls and you can sample cheese, cured meats, wine and seasonal fruits amongst other delicacies.
We next head towards the Jewish Ghetto and Theatre of Pompey to see the remains of several ancient Roman buildings as well as Rome’s synagogue. You get to sample some of Rome’s best pizza as well as suppli – a traditional street food made by frying a ball of rice which has tomatoes and mozzarella at its centre.
We continue the tour with a visit to the area known as Torre di Lago Argentina where Julius Caesar was assassinated; now perhaps better known for the city’s best Gelateria. This is a family-run business and you will hear some of the secrets to making gelato and of course sample some of the wonderful flavours.
You can choose to take this tour at lunchtime or dinner time. It is an ideal way to dine and sightsee at the same time in this marvellous city!
